Luna King
(Precious Hearts Romances)
They shared a short yet memorable time together, and in that very short moment, she fell for him.
Three months later, he suddenly showed up in her classroom.
“Exer!” bulalas niya.
“Ah. That’s ‘Sir Villez’ to you, Miss Vismonte,” nakangiting sagot nito.
Exer turned out to be her substitute homeroom teacher! She confessed her feelings to him. But she was bluntly rejected. May iba na palang nagmamay-ari sa puso nito.
Now, seven years had passed and for some reason, their roles had switched. It was her turn to reject him.

Reader's Point-of-view:
My Dream Plus My Heart Equals My Homeroom Teacher was Miss Luna King's third novel published on Precious Hearts Romances. She has one novel published under Dream Love, a publishing house under PPC as well and her pen name was Luna. As of today, June, 2013, Ms. Luna has sixteen published novel under PHR. My Dream Plus My Heart Equals My Homeroom Teacher was about Ali, a high school student who by some twist of fate, met Exer and she instantly fell for him on that fated day. And later on, she met him again when he showed up on her school saying that he was their substitute homeroom teacher. She was in love with him but it was forbidden since Exer was her teacher and so he rejected her. Years later, they met again but the roles were reversed.
Actually, reviewing this one was helluva hard since the reviewers had been biased from the start but let's set aside that feeling for now. Let's give Ms. Luna the benefit of the doubt first.
Ali was okay. She's your normal high school girl and the way Ms. Luna had characterized her fitted the age Ali was on the first part of the story. It almost made me raised my eyebrows when she told Exer that she loved him already but based on how Ms. Luna made Ali, I could understand her side. Falling in love--as in really in love--isn't about your age. Being in love at the age of fifteen doesn't make your love fake and being in love at the age of fifty-five doesn't mean your love is true. Wala akong masabi kay Ali. To be honest, she's too bland. She was sort of clumsy, too, to the point of being annoying. LOL! And her past, hindi man lamang nakadagdag sa karakter niya ang pinagdadaanan niya. It would have been better if she had become a little bit more fiery and not too bland. Seven years later, she's still the same ole bland Ali. The end.
Exer was your normal shoujo manga hero--cool, nice, sweet, understanding, soft and all the positive trait you could find on a man. He's too perfect and I could not find fault on that since this is romance fiction and it wasn't the writer's fault if she wanted a too perfect hero. Hey, I'm being true here and I honestly like a perfect hero so who was I to condemn Exer for being too perfect? His character suited his role on the novel and I really, as in really, like him. Period. I like how matured he was on the first part of the novel. It was his maturity and how he handled every situation faced in front of him that made him a worth-loving hero. For me. It was him who made the novel worth-reading. Nadala niya `yong kabuuan ng nobela. But again, years after, I don't see any changes in him. It would have been better if Ms. Luna made him a little bit strong? Was that the right word to describe it? Mas okay sana kung after seven years ay na-retain man ni Exer ang previous traits niya, pero nag-gain siya ng strength aura. Nabawasan sana `yong softness niya. It seemed like he's too malamya for his age then.
Thor, Ali's best friend, has a big role in the story as well. I could not help but pity him after I read the whole story. It seemed like after all the years he loved Ali, it was all for nothing. But hey, who's fault was that? It seemed like this part was kind of manipulated to me. He's the under-dog that you would pity for the rest of your life. Hahahaha!
On the story itself, the pacing was good. It wasn't boring but there were scenes that were dragging and lame. As I was reading the whole novel, I could not help but compare it to this certain manga, Chocolate Cosmos. I re-read the manga to be sure and yes, there were certain parts that were actually the same or it was somehow inspired on that manga. The characters, the plot and the side characters. Good thing half-way it changed but maybe because the manga was still on-going? LOL! Then she started writing this novel. For me, as a reader, it's okay to be inspired on what you had read or watched but to the point copying or revising the thing you read? Well. But if it happened to be a coincidence only (And I hope it was though I obviously don't buy it. Hahahaha!) then great. Maybe this was also the reason why Ms. Luna's characters seemed so unstable or bland. The characters were just inspired so the characteristics weren't originally made by her and she doesn't know how to handle them. Or maybe I'm just having an active imagination right now. Hahahaha!
In overall, the novel was okay. If you're into light-read novel with full of cheesy-ness and possessiveness, then this one is for you. But if you're an otaku and a fan of Chocolate Cosmos, then I don't recommend this one. Hindi mo lang maiiwasang ikumpara ito doon. I know it wasn't fair to the writer but I could not help it. Sue me for comparing it but, hello? It was bound to be compared sooner or later.
The problem lies on her plots and scenes. I had read her other novels and I won't mention the titles anymore but I could not help but compare it to some manga and anime. That was our issue on her works. It seemed like she loves anime and manga to the point that she wanted to write something near to that. It was okay to write cheesy and corny novels that teenagers would enjoy for PHR had already entered the market of youngsters. But to actually copy? Well again.
Favorite Character: Exer for he's too handsome for his own good. LOL!
Favorite Scene: When Ali tried to saved her hands and Exer saved her. Ipa-frame ang kamay, bilis.
(The one point five stars was for Exer. It was BookLover who gave the point five. LOL!)
