book 1 of ??
Jhanine was a simple girl with a simple dream.

Reader's Point-of-view:
Car Wash Boys written by Miss Juris Angela was a series consisting of ten-twelve books (I guess). The first five books were already out in the market. Lolo Badong owned Lolo Badong's Hugas-Kotse Gang, a car wash found inside Tanangco Street. The Car Wash Boys was named from Lolo Badong's car wash services. His grandchildren have their own companies, professions and occupation but once in a while, they were helping him run the car wash. They were popularly known on their street for their looks, financial state and firm body (You'll know why as you read the review. LOL!)
The first book was about Daryl, the senator's son and Jhanine who works at an IT company. They were childhood friends but something happened that tore their friendship apart. Since then, Daryl would tease Jhanine mercilessly and was enjoying every minute of it while Jhanine was pissed off every time she would see Daryl. An issue (that was spread off nationwide) occurred because of Daryl's mischievousness and thus earning Jhanine's wrath. Daryl asked for forgiveness and little by little, she had managed to forgive him and fall in love with him as well. But along the way, there were different forces keeping them apart. Two of them were her insecurity and their status difference.
Daryl, the hero of the novel, was your typical spoiled rich guy. He was your typical happy-go-lucky type of a guy that acts like nothing matters aside from himself. The beginning of the story was written on his point-of-view so imagine how pissed I was when I read his monologue. He said he wanted to prove that he could survive without the help of his parents' name but look at the way he acts. Immature. So immature. The only thing I liked about him was his devotion towards the heroine, Jhanine. Imagine, for how many years, his feelings for her remained the same. Though I found this let's say, unconvincing. LOL!
Jhanine was again the typical heroine. She was the kind of heroine that would not stay on your mind after yo read the novel. Hahahaha!
Here are the side characters again. I know the series was about the Car Wash Boys pero kailangan ba sa bawat pagkakataong sa Tanangco Street ang settings, lahat ng Car Wash Boys (Or 80% of them) ay kasama sa scene? I think Ms. Juris was trying to be funny by inserting funny side characters but really, hindi sila nakakatulong at sayang lang sa space. AND please Ms Juris, wag mo ng isingit ang mga characters sa The Tanangco Boys. Overcrowded na! They were all over the place! Hahahaha!
As I was reading the novel, it seemed like there's a nagging voice inside my head shouting, "I know this! This scene was so familiar! And this, too!" So nag-usap ang reviewers at parehas sila ng napansin. Just like what was written on the author's page of this novel, Ms. Juris said that this novel was inspired by a movie and she did not mentioned what movie it was. I don't know if you could call this as an inspiration or what. But there were scenes that were totally the same as that movie.
We're not saying that the whole story-plot was the same. There were some scenes that were let's say, kahawig. But really, even the conflict was somehow the same. LOL! Hindi ako maka-move on. And the scene at the company, parehas talaga eh. And don't forget the scene where the senator called her to talk about his son. Hahahahaha! The movie I'm comparing the novel was aired on March, 2011. (BTW, thanks to the one who answered my question on Twitter. It surely helped a lot =))
In overall, it was ahm, okay. A little bit dragging and boring on some narrations but it was still readable. But if you're looking for a boom-wow novel, then... Hahahaha!
The problem I encountered while reading was the setting itself and how the characters act in each scene. Correct me if I'm wrong na lang. I'm open for corrections. But if Tanangco Street was just a street, parang hindi akma ang ilang establishment na nabanggit sa kwento (Idagdag pa ang nabanggit sa The Tanangco Boys series). Are you kidding me? Hahahahaha! I could not help but laugh when I read those scenes where the car wash boys took off their shirts so they could start cleaning the cars. At tinitilian pa sila ng mga babae. Ayon na yong hot part? Nadaya ako ng video teaser ah! Hahahahaha!
You go, man.
Favorite Character: Lolo Badong and Lola Dadang.
(The point eighty was given BookLover. Ang bait niya no? Hahahaha!)
